Founded in 1943, Jeep is an American automobile brand owned by the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) group. The company’s products include a range of SUV’s. The brand was launched in India in February 2016 with the launch of a few CBU products. The first locally produced model was launched in June 2017.

Jeep India’s product range currently includes the Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Grand Cherokee SRT, Compass and the Compass TrailHawk. The Compass and Compass TrailHawk are manufactured at the company’s plant located in Ranjangaon, Maharashtra while all other products are imported to the country via the CBU route. In international markets, the company also sells models such as the Renegade and the Gladiator.

Jeep is currently working on new BS-VI compliant engines for the Compass range. The brand has not revealed its future plans for India. Details regarding the company’s plans for electrification remain unknown at the moment.
