When to Expect : March 2026 (Tentative)
Audi is expected to launch the all-new generation of its Q3 in India sometime in 2021; first showcased in 2018, Audi is taking its own sweet time to launch the car in India, plans for which have been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The competition has moved ahead and Audi will have to take the decision of launching either the model shown back in 2018 or wait till the facelift model expected in 2022.
Audi’s next-gen Q3 is underpinned by the MQB platform which makes the car slightly bigger but lighter than the existing model. Edgier design, in-line with the company’s new design philosophy, make it look more sculpted than before. The all-LED headlamps and taillamps add to the futuristic look of the SUV.
The Audi Q3 has grown – it is 97mm longer overall, 25mm wider and has a 77mm longer wheelbase. All this improves interior space significantly and that is matched by the all-new interior design theme similar to more expensive models like the A8 and Q7. The two-tier dashboard with its focus on digital screens looks modern, the Q3 has more driver focussed design with the centre console tilted towards them for easier viewing and control.
While there are four engine options to choose from internationally – including three petrol and one diesel engine – it is not confirmed which ones will be offered in India. With Audi’s focus on petrol and EV powertrains for India, expect the Q3 to be offered only with the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine and an automatic transmission.
